What the Spanish Academy did today:
Wow, the time has flown by! The students are finishing their third week at the Academy! We are amazed by the amount of energy they have and their ability to push through and keep learning. This weekend, the students have the San Fermín Festival to look forward to. Normally, this festival is a week-long celebration in the city of Pamplona, Spain. Traditional activities include the running of the bulls, a parade of Gigantes y Cabezudos, and sports! On Sunday, the kids will also participate in an Academy-wide talent show and prepare for their final week here.
In classes today, Level 1 students learned how to describe what they wear in each season and for different occasions. Next week, they’ll be focusing on events/directions, beginning with reading/understanding maps from Spanish-speaking countries.
Level 2 students learned all about social do’s and don’ts in Spanish-speaking countries. In their final week, they will also learn about maps, environments, and how to solve environmental problems in Spanish-speaking countries.
In Level 3 classrooms, students gave short presentations where they described several city attractions. Next week, they will learn to describe the geography and natural resources of Spanish-speaking countries.
Level 4 students reflected on the past three weeks and how the language and cultural knowledge they’ve acquired here at the Academy will impact their plans for the future. In their last week here, they will discuss social issues and solutions in Spanish-speaking countries.
We’re excited to close out the week and have fun this fin de semana!
