Au revoir, Québec!

In Québec, we are very lucky: we are not far from the water. So, what a treat to have our final ceremony on a boat. It was an evening filled with emotions: realizing it is over, finally speaking English, but also discovering Québec from another angle, leaving new friends and so much more.

Thank you, Québec for welcoming us a second time and giving us all the opportunity to discover French and French culture outside of France. However, it is not adieu, it is à tantôt and just the first steps of a lifetime bilingual life.

Another Happy Day in Québec!

It started with a display of delicious food brought by our team leaders.  We had French croissants, chocolate croissants (chocolatines in Québec), crêpes, strawberries, coffee, melon, cherry tomatoes, blueberries, brie and chèvre cheeses, fresh baguettes, chocolate… It was a feast.

In the afternoon, students were exposed to another kind of feast: Montmorency Waterfalls, pure beauty of nature.  They dominate the landscape, 83 meters high (30 meters higher than Niagara Falls).  We are so lucky to be so close to these unique sites.

Students visit Village Vacances Valcartier, a water slide paradise!

Village Vacances Valcartier is a water slides paradise, 30 minutes away from the Laval University.  Our students experienced it the whole day.   The weather was on our side: it was sunny and warm from the beginning to the end of the filed trip.

Photos from the Assemblée Nationale!

The Assemblée Nationale opened its doors to MIL students yesterday.  It is located in the center of Québec and is inside a historical classified building, the Parliament.  There, they learned about  the history and activities of Québec’s Parliament.  This serious visit was followed by free time, dinner with friends  and attending free concerts  in old Québec.

Food week in Québéc!

This week will undoubtedly be everybody’s favorite: it’s food week!!!!! After their food shopping for the 4th of July dinner yesterday, students went to an open market today. A questionnaire in hand, students asked merchants questions in French while discovering Québécois delicacies. To name a few, our lucky students had French crêpes with maple syrup, bio sausages, ice cream dipped in chocolate... It was a tasty afternoon.

Lunch in Québéc

At lunch today, other educators were celebrating Québécois culture with music. While their students were quiet, MIL students took over with enthusiasm.

In the Classroom

How can you perform the best CPR? By following the Beatles’ song, obladi oblada, in rhythm. One day, this week, we talked about health so, it was à propos to discuss saving lives and tools taught by CPR trainers. The use of music is one of them—here are some photos from that day!
