Having grown up in a strictly Spanish-speaking household, learned French in high school and now Arabic in college, I believe I have come to know a thing or two about the challenges and benefits to learning multiple languages. The advantage of studying French as a bilingual speaker of Spanish and English was substantial, but nothing compared to learning Arabic during college. The Foundation of Our Courses: Meet Our Academic Team

Some of this can be attributed to our relationship with Middlebury College; our courses utilize principles of the language pedagogy of the Middlebury College Language Schools, considered by many to be the best world language programs in the country.

Last week, the faculty at Middlebury College voted to instruct the college to “sever its ties to K12, Inc.” Since K12, Inc. and Middlebury College are partners in the joint venture that oversees Middlebury Interactive Languages, some might wonder what this vote means for Middlebury Interactive and our future growth. Specifically, I wanted to discuss what it means for our most important constituents: the students and teachers using our world language courses.

The Education Industry Association hosted their 24th annual EDVentures conference on July 16, 2014, in Newport Beach, California. For those unfamiliar with EDVentures, it is considered to be a conference at “the intersection of entrepreneurial leadership and technology”. EDVentures attendees range from the most respected thought leaders in the education industry to new education technology start-ups.
