Middlebury Interactive offers students a summer of cultural and linguistic exploration—participants make a remarkable transformation and become true global citizens. The Residential and Day Academies were developed for middle and high school students, from beginners to advanced learners. The Academy is based on Middlebury College's long-standing tradition of immersive education, the gold standard in language learning for almost a century. Participants take the Middlebury Language Pledge which inspires them to communicate in their target language at all times. Language instructors are trained extensively on the Middlebury immersion method and support individual learning styles. The Academy in a unique and enriching life experience that prepares students for a globally connected 21st Century.

Residential Academies

Students engage in 4-weeks of full-immersion language learning while in a safe, supportive college environment with state-of-the-art facilities. Students take a Language Pledge that requires them to communicate in their target language at all times. This is an essential part of the program that makes every moment a learning experience. The Residential Academy creates a close community of friends, enhances language proficiency, encourages self-confidence and prepares students to become successful global citizens. Students gain an authentic college experience at one four campuses—Swarthmore College in PA, Pomona College in CA, Green Mountain College in VT, and our new Beijing Academy.  Visit site

Day Academies

Summer Day Academies bring Middlebury College’s gold standard world language curriculum to an immersive 2-week program hosted in a safe and convenient private school setting. More enriching than a day camp and more fun than a traditional academic program, students learn Spanish, French or Chinese and gain the global skills to succeed in high school, college and beyond. The Day Academies, available to all public and private school students, are located on the beautiful campuses of four highly-respected private schools across the country: in Greater Boston (Belmont Hill School), Western Connecticut (Greenwich Academy), Washington, DC (National Cathedral School) and Southern California (Pacific Ridge School).  Visit site

Language Courses

As part of the Middlebury Interactive family of companies, powerspeaK¹² offers a versatile and dynamic approach to language learning. It helps students develop communicative competence in the target language while building a strong foundation in correct grammar and vocabulary usage.  Visit site
