Language study is beneficial and effective at any age. However, students who begin early and follow a continuous path for language learning have been shown to boost their academic performance in core subjects, as well as becoming better global citizens. The more years of language study, the greater the results. Middlebury Interactive's elementary courses offer students the opportunity to explore and discover languages in an engaging, interactive and self-paced environment. Designed specifically for elementary students, schools and districts can feel confident in providing an age-appropriate introductory foundation with an emphasis on exposure and appreciation for language and world culture.
Middlebury Interactive's elementary courses for grades K-2 provide a fun, interactive language and culture experience for young learners' very first exposure to language learning. The curriculum is organized thematically and uses authentic literature, fables, myths and legends for vocabulary development and cultural understanding. Stories, games and songs provides for an enjoyable, low stress learning environment where students can explore meanings and begin to express themselves through simple words and phrases.
Elementary school courses and curriculum build a solid language foundation for elementary students. The program provides students with an introduction to basic expressions, words and phrases. The courses also build awareness and appreciation of different languages and cultures. Students' primary focus is on listening and speaking, with exposure to reading and writing accompanied by opportunities to practice what they've learned in familiar settings.
