The Recovery Day

After and exciting and busy day of Olympic games, all were quiet and enjoying a peaceful Monday on the campus of St. Michael's.

July 11, 2016

After yesterday's excitement, everyone was due for a quiet, peaceful day. And that's exactly what they got today.

Here's a recap of today's events, as said by the French Academy's Head RE, Hannah:

"Today, after a busy and exciting weekend, the students and staff of the French academy began their third week here at Saint Mike’s. At morning assembly, led each day by a different living group, the group started the day in a festive and theatrical manner, with a miniature edition of the TV show “So You Think You Can Dance” and a version of the disney song “I’ll Make a Man Out of You,” with lyrics re-written by the students to reflect life in the French academy. In the afternoon activities, students participated in a variety of activities, both athletic and artistic. Some created tie-dye t-shirts or played poker (no euros involved, of course!), while others swam, played capture the flag or participated in a zumba class. This week, the French Academy continues to take occasional afternoon trips into Burlington: Ben and Jerry’s all around! And just in time, because the hot and sunny weather has returned after a rainy weekend. This evening, the cultural exploration classes presented what they had been working on this week, ranging from Tahitian dances to impressionist paintings! Bravo à tous."
