What the Arabic Academy learned today:
With only four full days left of camp, the Arabic Academy has been very busy. On Friday we had Nabila, a well-known Lebanese professional dancer, choreographer, and singer come to teach the Arabic language through dance, music, and culture. She specializes in producing Middle Eastern Folkloric Art; both traditional and modern.
On Saturday, students went to Middlebury campus to learn more about the program and explore. Yesterday, we had a cookout in which students all contributed to prepare and cook. Native speakers of the Arabic language also came to the cookout to eat and engage with students so that students could learn more about the culture and practice their conversational skills. That night, the Academy hosted a big wedding filled with snacks, desserts, and henna.
Wish our students luck as they complete their language tests today and tomorrow! This will be followed by the World Expo celebration on Wednesday.
Check back on Wednesday to read more about the Arabic Academy!
