Grillfest at the German Academy!
Location: Saint Michael’s College
What the German Academy did today: What an awesome Friday at the German Academy! Students attended classes as usual, then kicked off the weekend with a fantastically fun “Grillfest!” The kids enjoyed bratwurst, grilled veggies, potato salad, and homemade cakes (courtesy of RA Sandra!) before showing off some dance moves and playing outdoor games together. This weekend, they’ll enjoy another dance –– this time, with the French Academy! We’re closing in on our final week here at the Academy and excited to share this language-learning time together.
In today’s classes…
Level 1 students worked on describing what to wear in each season and for different occasions. They watched a video about the 4 seasons, then discussed fashion in different locations.
Level 2 students worked on identifying social do’s and don’ts in target countries. They completed a writing assignment that compared social etiquette expectations in Germany and the United States!
Finally, our Level 3 students gave short presentations to describe city attractions. They pretended to be vendors of city tours and creating enticing “websites” for vacationers!
