Granada: Week 4 Water Party

Monday's highlights include classes, a water party, and cooking and dancing workshops!

July 18, 2017

Students spent their last Monday morning here going to Spanish classes, taking the STAMP Spanish assessment, and checking in individually with their language teachers about their progress in class.  After lunch, Alba’s group celebrated Ally’s birthday with singing and cake; Happy Birthday Ally! The celebrating continued with a “water party” on the patio complete with an intense water balloon competition as a fun way to cool off.  Students spent the rest of the afternoon exploring the city during free time, followed by an optional cooking class or a Latin dance class before dinner.  Jessica and Alba’s groups spent the night celebrating winning the costume party dance competition with churros con chocolate while other students had the options of eating dessert in town or going to a local concert at Lemon Rock!

Even though CE classes have finished, I have posted a few photos of some of the final art products made in Pilar and Carmen’s classes. Julia's class focused on using their 5 senses in Granada, and Carmen’s class focused on using art for social change and for human rights awareness. I have also attached photos from last week’s graffiti workshop. Enjoy! :)
