Granada: Learning from Locals in Julia's Spanish Class
Julia's Level 3 Spanish Class : “I can ask for and provide descriptions of places I know and places I would like to visit.”
Students have now been here for almost two full weeks and they are now putting their knowledge of Granada to use. Julia’s level 3 Spanish class is focusing on the “Can Do” statement, “I can ask for and provide descriptions of places I know and places I would like to visit.” To do this, the students are working on a detailed guide with recommendations for tourists visiting Granada for the weekend. This guide includes recommendations for places to visit, a map of the city, activities to complete by day, transportation, and general advice. In order to gather the best information, students hit the streets of Granada, asking locals about some of the best places to go in town. With their new knowledge of this city, Spanish culture, and the language, we hope that students will spread their appreciation and advice to people thinking about visiting Granada in the future.
Julia is also from Granada, and has taught Spanish in the U.S. as well as England. Able to relate to her students working and living in another country, Julia’s experiences in and out of the classroom inspire students to continue pushing their mental and physical boundaries to explore this wonderful world.Granada: Dancing in the Rain Granada: Many Hands Make Light Work Granada: Day trip to the Beach!
