What the Nantes Academy did today:

Today we discussed our past week and yesterday’s activities at the morning assembly. The students were quite happy with our Sunday and its water theme: cruise on the Erdre river and water olympics. As today is Monday, they headed back to Language Class in the morning to discuss cultural values and French social customs.

Lunch ended with a delicious homemade black cherry clafoutis (cake). We are now in the middle of Cultural Exploration classes and students get to try a different course again this week. They will head downtown afterwards for some free time in Nantes with our chaperones. Expect a lot of shopping bags and heavier suitcases on their way back home at the end of the month!

Tonight we have a fun music activity planned with a rewriting of the Marseillaise (our national hymn) by our students. With the help of a profesional musician and one of our RAs, the students will compose our Nantes Academy anthem based on the French anthem. We will play it and sing it together on July 14th, Bastille Day.
