What the Arabic Academy learned today:
Over the past two days, the Arabic Academy has been so busy. During cultural exploration, a group went to a local Arabic market to buy some traditional foods, like lentils and tea. They will also be learning to cook, as well as taste, many dishes. Ustaadha Tegwa had students dress up and examine Middle Eastern fashion. They even put on a fashion show! Students have also been doing lots of crafting and playing sports to learn Arabic words used when having fun with friends.
In class, the beginner levels have been learning to write, as well as basic phrases to communicate to go to the bathroom and ask for more food (very important). The level two class has been introducing themselves and talking about their families. The level three class is sending postcards home in Arabic and describing their daily routines.
It has been a great few days at SMC, and the best is yet to come!
Check back on Friday to read more about the Arabic Academy!
