Adventures Galore, Field Trips and More!

July 11, 2017

The fun is continuing on here at Green Mountain College! After almost two and a half weeks, the students from the French, German, and Chinese Academies have really adapted to life here at MIL. It has been amazing to watch these communities come together and thrive here at Green Mountain College!

Today was an especially amazing day for the Chinese and French Academies here, as both academies embarked on field trips! The Chinese Academy spent the day at Middlebury College, where they got a chance to learn more about the Schools of Language that Middlebury offers. They also spent some quality time with members of the university program there, which gave them the perfect chance to show off everything they have learned here!*

The French Academy, meanwhile, embarked on a cultural excursion of epic proportions. Students spent the day at Cafe Provence in Brandon, VT. Here, they were treated to a live demonstration of what it's like in a French kitchen. And to make things even better, they even got to enjoy a delicious lunch of Chicken Niçoise and Quiche afterwords! Finally, to round out the day, students also travelled over to Lake Dunmore for some time on the beach! Students soaked up some rays, swam, or tossed around a frisbee. After three weeks, it really is clear just how great of friends they have become!

Finally, while the German Academy may not have travelled today, they lived it up here on campus in style! Today, Uwe Kind, a German educational singer, stopped by Green Mountain College and gave a performance just for the German Academy! Students learned many fun and educational songs in German, and danced the night away as well! Check out our Facebook page for some videos of the fun!

And that's all for today! Check back tomorrow for some more updates from week three here at Green Mountain College!
