What the Salamanca Academy did today:

Today the students and mentors gathered for a picnic in the park near the Tormes River and Roman bridge where everyone had the opportunity to get acquainted better their peers.

First the students played a couple games. One was aimed at having different people introduce themselves to one another and the other was to have the students provide some facts about themselves and test their memory with each students name.

During the snack break the group enjoyed some refreshments and the company of their fellow students. Everyone was socializing in order to get to know the staff and one another better. Afterwards, another game known as “The scarf game” was played to bring out their competitiveness which they had fun partaking in.

Since one of the mentors had a guitar everyone gathered around to sing along to some popular spanish songs such as the classic ‘La Bamba’ and ‘Despacito’. And this concluded the afternoon and the kids were accompanied by mentors to go back to the host families. All in all it was a fun experience and proper ice-breaker to get the kids comfortable in a different setting. And now begins a new adventure them.
